Wheeler J. Welday

Wheeler J. Welday has a major interest in the production of fruit and service to his fellow men. He cooperated with Ohio and West Virginia research centers in development of new strains of apples. He has the oldest Red Delicious spur-type apple tree in Ohio or the United States.

Past president of the Ohio Extension Advisory Committee and the Ohio Historical Society. Active in Boy Scouts, crippled children’s aid, Red Cross, church and other civic organizations. Ohio Master Farmer, 1925. Instructor for 20 years in Community Institutes.
