Lisa Hamler-Fugitt

A passionate advocate for anti-hunger efforts in Ohio and beyond, Lisa Hamler-Fugitt has championed for decades to develop and foster partnerships between Ohio’s hunger relief network and Ohio’s agricultural community. Namely, Hamler-Fugitt has provided crucial leadership in building the Ohio Agricultural Clearance Program, seeking out innovative solutions to direct excess agricultural products to food insecure community members and provide Ohio’s farmers with an outlet for unmarketable or surplus commodities. The initiative has not only reduced food waste, but also served as an outlet to aid Ohioans in need and has functioned as a model program for food security organizations across the nation.
Additionally, Hamler-Fugitt provided leadership on the Ohio Smart Agriculture: Solutions from the Land project, the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board, the Ohio Food Policy Council, the Ohio Hunger Task Force and Feeding America’s Policy Engagement and Advocacy Committee, among others. Her fierce dedication and tenacity advocating for the underserved, and building meaningful, lasting relationships and resolutions has led her to become a prominent figure in the anti-hunger movement near and far.
