LeRoy Albert Demorest

LeRoy Albert Demorest was a Midwest pioneer breeder of purebred Charolais Cattle and is remembered for achievements as a farm machinery inventor. His inventions included the development of the first tricycle type steering for tractors, tractor propelled corn shocker and new high speed cultivator shovel (patented with sons).

J. I. Case Company and Harvestor Company presented LeRoy with citations for his engineering and design ideas. He was the first American International Charolais Member in the Midwest area and the first Charolais Breeder to join Performance Registry International. In 1919 he was one of Ohio’s 100 bushel ten-acre corn champions.
