John Sawyer

John Sawyer, Hamilton County, has served Ohio agriculture for more than 30 years as a farmer and as an innovator. His support and leadership helped in the early development of the American Soybean Association and the Ohio Beef Marketing Program. As a professional pilot, he was a pioneer in aerial application of crop pesticides in Ohio. He has been a leader in sound environmental management in the livestock industry and developed a high-volume manure composting system at the Ohio Feedlot at South Charleston.

He is president of the J. Sawyer Company which, in addition to owning farms and ranches throughout the country, provides professional farm management services. He is also a licensed real estate broker. His leadership has enabled him to become one of the organizers and current president of the Cincinnati Bengals and part owner of the Cincinnati Reds.
