Henry H. Schriver

Henry H. Schriver, Lorain County, is a farmer, cooperative leader and a motivator. Throughout his 30 years of service to agriculture, he had led, taught and motivated thousands of 4-H and FFA youth through his lectures on cooperatives. On the farm, he has been a leader in introducing new ideas into his farming operation. His farm has served as a demonstration farm for such practices as liming, sod waterways, farm ponds, hay drying and artificial insemination. He has promoted cooperatives throughout the United States and in foreign countries.

Schriver’s speech, “Cows, Kids and Co-ops.” Was filmed by the American Institute of Cooperatives and shown around the world. In a recent newspaper article he was characterized as. “Head over heels in civic activities and the joy and trials of rearing 11 children, he still finds time to speak about his firm belief in a do-it-yourself America and the responsibility of the individual to this end.”
