Dr. Vern R. Cahill

Dr. Vern R. Cahill. Columbus, was a professor of meat science at The Ohio State University for 42 years. Dr. Cahill has provided leadership and excellence in teaching and research in meat science and quality evaluation. He has maintained leadership and communication with meat industry leaders in Ohio and conducted significant research in quality meat production, efficient processing and marketing.

Dr. Cahill has taken an active role in developing and establishing a Facility Professional Development Fund and has encouraged industry participation in the L.E. Kunkle Student Development Fund. He has served on the University Senate committee and was active on the Executive Council for the Food Industry Center at Ohio State. He received the Distinguished University Service award in 1999 from Ohio State.

He has been a member of The American Meat Science Association, The American Society of Animal Science and the Ohio Meat Industries Association where he is an Honorary Life Member.
