Clarence J. Cunningham

A 1949 graduate of Fredericksburg High School, Clarence J. Cunningham has distinguished himself through lifelong work in 4-H leadership and agricultural extension service.

With BS, MS and doctorate degrees from The Ohio State University, Cunningham began his career teaching vocational agricultural at Northwestern HS, Raymond, from 1953-55. He enlisted in the US Army and spent 1955-57 in military intelligence. Following service, he worked as an OSU 4-H Extension Educator in Pickaway County from 1957-60, when he became an OSU 4-H State Faculty Member. For the next 28 years, Cunningham progressed through the ranks of 4-H administration and OSU Extension holding several positions including Associate Director of Extension and Acting Director of Extension. He was an agricultural education professor and was active in national Extension and 4-H.

He has volunteered for the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, Wesley Glen Retirement Community, Northwest United Methodist Church, Kiwanis, Boy Scouts and Hilliard Public Schools. Cunningham and his wife Jane live in Hilliard. He has two grown sons, Larry Cunningham and Russell Cunningham.
