Bob Evans

“Sausage King” Bob Evans, of Bidwell, is a genuine advocate of agriculture. Born and raised on an Ohio farm, Evans has never forgotten his rural values and commitment to agriculture, even after reaching the pinnacle of fame and fortune. His success in the sausage business gave him strength to extend his efforts to all of agriculture.

As an environmental steward, Evans believes in the preservation of land and wildlife. His conservation efforts have made his Rio Grande Farm a symbol of sound environmental practices. Evans provided leadership and vision into the development of year-round grazing programs in Ohio. He was also instrumental in securing funding for the Ohio Belle Valley Bull Test facility. In addition, Evans owned an interest in the first Limousin bull imported into the United States. Evans is a charter member of the Gallia County Cattlemen’s association and is a past director of the both the Ohio and International American Charolais associations.
