Allen Trimble

Allen Trimble, Highland County-pioneer farmer and sheep breeder. Encouraged development of sheep business in Ohio in early 1800’s.

As Governor, he extended the public school system, encouraged manufacturing and reformed the state penal system. Mr Trimble helped form the first company to import English cattle to Ohio and improved farm marketing by extending the Ohio canal system.
