Edmund Secrest

Dr. Edmund Secrest was the first state forester in Ohio and later served as associate director and director of the Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station at Wooster. He started the forest arboretum at Wooster which became nationally famous and was dedicated to his memory in 1950.

Secrest authored many sections of the Ohio General Code dealing with forestry. Forests on many thousands of acres of state-owned land were under his personal direction.
