C. Clayton Terrell

C. Clayton Terrell, Clinton county, was a grain and livestock farmer with state, national and international reputation. He was a pioneer hybrid seed corn producer and raised Merino sheep and Duroc hogs. He showed Duroc Champions at Ohio and Indiana State Fairs and National Swine Shows. His Durocs were sold into 30 states in United States, Canada, Chile, Brazil and Japan. He was a pioneer in assisting boys and girls in 4-H Club work.

During 21 years he spoke to 400 Farmer’s Institute audiences. Practical application of 400 scientific knowledge was his recommendation. As a hobby, he wrote and produced 25 plays and pageants, mostly portraying pioneer life. He was very active in the life of the community holding many offices including presiding office in six organizations.

Master Farmer of Ohio and Doctor of Laws from Wilmington College were two of the many honors Mr. Terrell received.
