Ralph A. Howard

Ralph Howard. 1898-1983. formerly of Fulton County, devoted 42 years to being an inspirational and dedicated vocational agriculture educator. During his 42 years of public service within the Ohio Department of Education, he served as an Assistant State Supervisor. State Supervisor, and the last 13 years of his active association with the State as State Director of Vocational Education.

He has been credited as the designer and implementor of the Future Farmers of America in Ohio. In addition to his excellent administrative skills he also possessed the ability to work with young people on an individual basis. He challenged students to excel beyond what they believed to be their limits. He helped to formulate many State and National programs in FFA and Vocational Agricultural Education. He was an official incorporator of the National Future Farmers of America. He received numerous State and National awards following his retirement in 1963.
