Earl F. Kantner

Earl Kantner, Franklin County, has served as a youth educator for over 35 years. “Doc” is probably best known for his 21 years as the Ohio FFA Executive Secretary. During his distinguished career of public service, he developed over 250 State FFA officers and was a positive influence on literally tens of thousands of youth all over Ohio. Earl’s contribution to development of a high quality vocational agriculture and FFA program has been instrumental in attracting young people to the agriculture industry. In retirement, he continues to serve youth by working as the Executive Director of the Ohio FFA Foundation.

Kantner spearheaded the development and funding of the Ohio FFA Center, which was dedicated on the Ohio State Fairgrounds in April 1987. His exemplary efforts have resulted in many state and national recognitions including the prestigious National FFA VIP Award which is annually issued to only four individuals across the United States. Although his vocation required endless time and devoted commitment, he also served as a volunteer for numerous civic and church activities.
