J. Gordon Riehl

J. Gordon Riehl of Howard has given outstanding leadership to the dairy industry. For 35 years, Riehl, has been active in operations and mergers of dairy marketing cooperatives. His understanding of cooperation led to the formation of Milk Marketing, Inc. Great Lakes Southern Milk, Inc. was formed through his efforts to more fairly and effectively market producers’ milk. He was an instrumental part of the development and formation of regional marketing plans to improve producers’ profit margins. Equitable and fair return for dairy producers throughout the Midwest is due in part to Riehl’s keen sense of dairy economics and marketing skills.

He served on the executive committee for the National Milk Producers Federation, the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, United Dairy Industry Association and the Ohio Dairy Farmers Federation. He is also a lifetime director of the National Milk Producers Federation.
