Leading with Purpose: Shaping the Future of Education and Discovery at Ohio State
Dr. Ravi V. Bellamkonda serves as the executive vice president and provost of The Ohio State University. As chief academic officer, he leads the Office of Academic Affairs and oversees the institution’s academic enterprise, which includes 15 colleges, four regional campuses and more than 8,600 faculty who serve nearly 67,000 students.
In this talk, he will explore Ohio State’s vision for the future — how the university can lead with purpose in education, research, and community engagement, bridging discovery with real-world impact across the state and beyond.

Provost Ravi Bellamkonda
Prior to joining Ohio State, Dr. Ravi V. Bellamkonda was the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Emory University. His other previous academic leadership roles include serving as the Vinik Dean at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering, and he was the Wallace H. Coulter Professor and chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University.
A bioengineer and neuroscientist, Dr. Bellamkonda is an internationally renowned biomedical researcher. Among his many accolades, he received a National Institutes for Health Director’s Transformative Research Award in 2021 for his work designing a “tractor beam” to treat pediatric brain tumors, supported by the National Cancer Institute.
